Suitable for flat bottom boats only (up to 24 feet long), and subject to radical changes in water levels.

Scroll down to CHOWAN RIVER BASIN, and left click on number 02046000-Nottoway River Near Sebrell, Virginia. Water levels for powerboats are ideal from 4 feet to about 7 feet. Lower water levels can be negotiated in canoes or johnboats that can be portaged. Water levels above 7 feet result in currents that could be dangerous to inexperienced boaters, broaching on downed timber.
