I was only 18 when I left Oregon with several other friends for Mexico. After several weeks in Mexico, I ended up as an American prisoner in El Cereso from locked up from 1989 to 1991. It was a nightmare. When I was there, there were 11 buildings. The 11th building (SE of the soccer field) was where they kept the crazy people...yes...VERY CRAZY PEOPLE! My first cell was the first building below the soccer field and then, a year later, I moved to the other side in the Northest building. There are prisoners with multiple wives, gold like Mr. T, and cells that have been converted into mini condos with AC, king beds, and big screen televisions. If you ever want to visit Mexico, I would STAY OUT OF TROUBLE if you want to avoid the prisons. Even if you are in a car accident and it was the other drivers fault, you will still be locked up for at least 6 months. There were several inmates locked up for this reason. I could go on and on...I should write a book!
