Huizache Lagoon

The lagoon is quite shallow and faces rapid silting. In the rainy season it may swell to 41 square kilometers but the dry season shrinks it to 14.
It is linked to Caimanero Lagoon to the south.
The Ostial Channel at the northwestern end of the lagoon allows its access to the sea via a circuitous path and joins the Presidio River when the lagoon overflows
