Shawnee Mission Northwest High School was established in 1969 under the Shawnee Mission School District. It is a high school for the surrounding Shawnee and Lenexa areas. As of the 2005-2006 school year, there are 1,967 students enrolled. The school is run under principal Dr. Bill Harrington. The school mascot is a cougar and the logo is a stylized orange and black cougar.
