park, recreation area / ground, lake, campsite / caravan site, interesting place
The Lake, as it is known in the area, started off as a gravel pit for the construction of US-20. When the construction ceased the gravel pit began to fill up with ground water and became an instant hit in the 1970's for the young people. Eventually it was developed into a park-like setting with picnic tables, fire pits, covered areas, rest rooms and camp sites. It also has a boat ramp for non-motorized boats. A jogging/walking trail circumvents the lake and is a popular place to exercise.
