One of the original medieval open fields of Frome, preserved for the old Frome Cheese Show and cricket club. A valuable open space, it was added to in the 1970s and became more important as it was surrounded by new development. The show moved out years ago and the field has been threatened with development, recently earmarked for the site of a new hospital - fresh air being now out of fashion.
