San Elijo State Beach is located just south of Encinitas (near Cardiff-by-the-Sea), Tent and RV camping allowed.

The campground attracts about 500,000 visitors annually. This state campground has 171 spaces for tents or RVs up to 35-feet long, picnic tables, fire grills, piped water, flush toilets, showers, a dump station and a small store. Some of the campsites and the store are wheelchair-accessible. The campgrounds are located along the bluff and many of the camping spots have uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean. Access to the beach is by wooden stair cases which drop you directly on the beach from the campground.
