Trestles

USA / California / San Clemente /

Trestles is a 2.5 mile-long beach with several separate surf breaks: Uppers, Middles and Lowers. Trestles is named after the old railroad bridge near the entrance to the beach. To get to the beach you will have to walk about a mile from the parking lot down a winding paved trail. The main trail ends at the train trestle.

Surfing Trestles is the ultimate California surfing experience. No lifeguards, beach crowds, blackballs, or spongers. Just perfect point break waves for miles. Lower trestles is home to the only ASP World Tour event in North America, and is a perfect peak sending surfers right and left. Churches is an amazing right, though a bit slower at times than Lowers. The rest of the breaks at trestles are very consistent, and make arguably the best collection of Southern California surf breaks in one location.
