The House of Young Scientists (today Ekoiuventa) was the first complex centre for the scientifically oriented interest clubs of pioneers and socialistic youth in Slovakia. The complex included majestic main building on the hill terrace, numerous greenhouses, stalls, breeder houses, and amphitheater as well as water pool. The main building was constructed at the time when N. S. Chruščov decided to end the era of socialistic realism. However, design and ideological articulation of the building make it the culmination of this trend in Slovakia. Symmetrical volume is derived from the form of antique peristylar temple with massive portico appended by architrave and tooth ornament. Tympanum is replaced by the heavy pedestal with the sculpture of maiden and juvenile created by Fraňo Gibala. Relief with cheerful motives of childrens scientific activities decorates the entrance portico. The original curled ceiling of the main hall, similar to the ceiling of the library in Vipuri (today Vyborg) constructed by Alvar Aalto, referred to the different inspirational source.
