This is the older (Downtown) part of the city of Stockbridge. The city limits now extend further to the west (near the interstate and Clayton county) and to the south (near the Hospital).
The rather new City Hall is located in this downtown portion of Stockbridge (with a nice, small park beside it). Property around the City Hall is undergoing renovation and re-development. Unfortunately, this process was initiate by the City Council members stealing people's property through Eminent Domain. The particular incident was aired nationwide and was the impetus for getting Georgia to enact stricter eminent domain laws.
