In the hot summer morning of Thursday, August 4, 1892, Lizzie Borden's father, Andrew Jackson Borden, and her step-mother, Abby Borden, were murdered in their house at 92 Second Street. Lizzie was arrested and tried for both murders in June 1893 but was acquitted, due to a lack of substantive evidence.
