  • Late Gageshwar Saha (Guria)family has been living in Itna-Daulatpur for centuries.
  • A building of century old Itna High School has been dedicated to Late Amulya Kr. Basu, the renowned teacher of this school.

  • Last it was 1994 I went last time. So far I have seen the most resourceful village of BD from the British Period. Dr. Niharanjan Gupta and many big intellectual were at that village and the architectural design of the old Jaminder houses.....are great. I have also seen the old school, Those Jamnider bari's pic with Dr. Niharanjan's house pic with my family.
  • My forefathers are from Itna , Jessore. We are Sadhukhans. My father and elder father came to Nabadwip, West Bengal and settled there before independence. I have heard the name of Shri Baidyanath Sadhukhan . He is my uncle by relation. He used to send invitation card every year to our house at Nabadwip on occasion of Durga Puja Ceremony. Now , for the last 25 years , we do not receive any communication from them . Is my uncle Shri Baidyanath Sadhukhan still alive ? Do they still celebrate Durga Puja at their house at Itna.   • I left Itna in 1958 after Matriculation. My father Chitta Ranjan Sarkar suddenly past away in 1957 by Small Pox. With 9 children aged 20 to 3 my mum was devasted. We had a good network of friends and relatives in India who took them to India except me. I was the top student in Itna high school and in class nine. I did not like to miss the school at this prime time and in a year I will do my matriculation. My Teacher Mr. Amulya Basu liked me like his son and insisted that I stay in his house to finish my exam. I accepted and completed my exam with Scholarship.I will never forget him. I have been living in Canada since 1966.I know the principal Mr. Biswanath Chakraborty and our MP-Abu Bakr.Thanks to social network for keeping in touch.kumar.sarkar@energyguru.ca

  • My forefathers lived in Itna. My father Late Dr. Haridas Das and my uncle Shri Patit Paban Das. they had two sisters viz. Radha Rani and Sudha Rani. Their father was Dr. Kali Prasanna Das and mother was Smt Saralabala Das. My father has died but my uncle is still alive and he will attain 100 years of age in January 2015. My uncle probably studied at Itna School and thereafter at Scottish Church College and Calcutta University (Post graduate in Philosophy). He was a professor in Sibagar College, Assam. Any senior person who comes across this post and knows about then is earnestly requested to provide me with as much as information and details of this family to me at arunbikas@gmail.com. I shall remain highly obliged as this information will be incorporated in a book to be brought out by Sibsagar College professors on the eve of my uncle's next birthday (100 yrs).
