Karyam was a predominately Muslim village before 1947 partition. Then uprooted people from pakistan were alloted land in this village. Karyam probably has the largest land area in Nawanshahr district villages. It is a very fertile area, has irrigation channel from Bist Doab canal. The land area touches Rahon road on one side and Phillaur road on the other.
