The Duomo (cathedral) of Orvieto was constructed under the orders of Pope Urban IV to house a special altar cloth supposedly stained with blood that "miraculously" oozed from a piece of Communion Host, known as 'Corporal of the Miracle of Bolsena'.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporal_of_Bolsena
The cathedral's façade is a classic piece of religious construction, containing elements of design from the 14th to the 20th century. The chapels inside are painted with scenes of Judgment Day ,and the famous bleeding Host incident.
