Situated in the middle of the 'Grote markt' on the southeastern side marked by the First World War memorial unveiled on July 15, 1923.
When the first hall in Kortrijk appeared is unclear. The earliest mention of the presence of a Hall dates back to 1248.
The current view of the Belfry dates from 1520 was mainly dominated by the reconstruction of the upper floor and in 1899 with the demolition of surrounding buildings.
