The church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as Franciscan church is a Franciscan church situated in Vilnius Old Town. Masses are in Lithuanian and Polish.
The church was built in 1421. At first, it had gothic style. It suffered from several fires in 17-18 centuries. The church was reconstructed in late baroque style in the 18th century. After 1812 war the church was repaired. Franciscans were punished for active help for 1863 rebels and lost the monastery and church buildings in 1864. The churched served as archive warehouse. Conventuals retrieved the church during interwar period. Soviets nationalised the church and used as archive warehouse until 1992 metais. Since 1998 the church returned to conventuals.
