The style of Kaunas cathedral basillica of Saint Peter and Paul is in transition between Gothic to Renaissance.
The construction of the building started in 1408-1413. The major works were completed in 1661. The building suffered fires and wars. The interior and exterior of the cathedral remained unaltered since 1800.
