Athabasca Glacier

A 5 km long valley glacier which can be easily visited. Fed by Columbia Icefield over bedrock steps, creating icefalls with crevassed surface and the ice flow downwards. Has been retreating at least a century which is expressed by terminal moraines far from the glacier edge.
