Opole Amphitheater, where National Polish Song Festival takes place.
Original "1000-year Amphitheater" was designed by Florian Jesionowski, based on a similar construction in Budapest seen by a local politician (Karol Musial) on his visit in Hungary. The first festival took place in 1963.
Part of the amphitheater sits on location of the first Slavic settlement from X century. It was excavated and inspected in 1958, and covered again by ground.
In 2009 the old amphitheater was torn down, making place for a modern construction.
