Island created in 1600 when Odra river changed its course. In 1858 von Puckler initiated creation of Society for Making City Prettier, led by Ludwig Sack. The first move of Society was creating a park on this island, later also housing development.
Pasieka was a location of the first settlement in this area, and since XIII also a castle.
