This is the 1st major residential colony for the railway employees of Trivandrum Division,Southern Railways(named after the 1st divisional railway manager who lived here). And this is where the Divisional Railway Manager of Trivandrum Division resides(also the previous Chief Minister of Kerala state lives just behind our colony) and also many other scores of railway employees and their famlies...and as a guy who spent all his chilhood o'r here i can say that me and my friends all had a great chilhood over there....played in the park, colony ground in front of the colony institute(which is not any more fit for playing as they gave it a roof),poojapura ground nearby, went to the shops at Chadiara & Poojapura junctions to buy groceries (especially the MILMA vendors shop in front of our colony..the place which we fondly call 'PAAL BOOTH'),then when we were
small kids we had our own amusements with the 'pul meedu'(large grass lawn in front of officiers club),'ammachi kottaram'
(The Old Ladies/Granny's Mansion),Railway Protection Force's(RPF) dog kennel near to it..and i'll never forget the Railway Van which used to take us to my school
and its ever loving driver,Vijayan uncle or VAN UNCLE for us,who seemed to be driving this old Matador workhorse eversince i can remember(and came to know that he passed away recently due to cardiac arrest while driving our gud o'l van...and now the van lies to rust away without the eversmiling face of our VAN UNCLE leaving behind old precious memeories),CP uncle,Shiju chettan,Annie,Nimmy,Dessy cheechi, Jenny,Asha,Sudeep,Swarup,Prasad Uncle,Shobha Aunty,Priyanka,Vidya,
Deepthi Cheechi,Sanskrit Aunty, Bibin,'Kithode',Pramod & many more......
and then my own family......if i go on then i'll have pages to fill

....AND I MISS THIS PLACE A LOT

besides this Southern Railway has 2 more residential complexes at Thampanoor(Near Trivandrum Central Railway Station) and Pettah.
