  • Autoor is a beautiful village cum town as it consists of several small villages in and around of it. You will be greatly admired by the way the temple Sri Somasundara Udaiurai Somasundari Amman Temple. Actually it is one of the greatest Siva Temple in the banks of Tamraparani river ( at the end of its estuary ). It is built by the known Pandya King Sundra Pandian who ruled Tirunelveli before 14th century. The streets of Autoor have caste names ( forgive me in telling this, i just want to narrate the topography of my town ) Basically, it has Radha Veethis next to the temple namely, West Car Street, North Car Street, East Car Street (now called as Bazaar ) and South Car Street. The entire town is based on this streets ( now we can call as roads ). The heart of this town is divided by the Bazaar road and to the Southend left side is big Reservoir and its nearby is Santhana Mariamman Temple. And so more
  • Nice place to settle down for all age groups. Actually my town is covered by water in north, east, west and south in different sources like river, ponds, Chanels and nearly sea. So in my lifetime with this town I never felt the water problem and also all the water sources are always in the filled status. So, I too enjoy from my childhood to teenage and now also. Also it has the holiest touch like formation of temple for different gods, such as god Siva (Somasundary Udanaya Somanatha swamy) and Vishnu in the shadow of Perumal and so on, also Church's and Mosque’s. Famous festival is happening on March in the name of "Panguni Thiruvila", which is stretch up to 12 days festival and near by village peoples are used to come every day on those festival. We too celebrate all the other common festival like Diwali, Pongal, Chritmas and Ramzan.Each category peoples are separated by specified streets, but they are in the separation of physical but all are having the relationship as brothers and sisters. Also my town is free transportation problems, we have 24 hours bus transportation from anywhere, since because which is on the main route of connecting two major and famous cities Tuticorin and Tiruchendur. Considering the education we have a lot of schools surrounded by our place including Central Board, both in English and Tamil medium. We are feeling calm, pollution free and noise free and interruption free life.
