pathirappally is an old village, under development. 50 years before pathirappally was a rural area with wide land. The most portion of pathirappally was owned by Mattathil family. An old Nair family near by Pattukulam temple. The name "pathirappally" is from a house name. Which was one of the old and noted house in pathirappally. Years before in the time of AS canal dregging the Captian of that dregger was residing in pathriappally. Then he settiled here after marrying a lady from here. His house name was Pathirappally. By that the place got name "pathirappally"
