Lynbrook is a village in the Town of Hempstead, NY. It was incorporated in 1911. Known throughout the 19th century as "Pearsall's Corners", the name was changed to Lynbrook as a play on the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Trolley service and the Long Island Railroad made "the Corners" a popular destination for Kings County residents, many of whom eventually relocated here.
