  • The New Surgical Block, Stanley Medical College & Hospital Built in the early 1980s, this was the prototype of many hospital buildings in Tamil Nadu. The block houses the most famous surgical department in TN, the general surgery dept of Stanley Medical College. Excellent wards, theatres and post-op ICUs form part of this mammoth structure, not a bit of space is wasted. An eight floored building, with two floors entirely dedicated to operation theatres, is the envy of all other colleges in the state and the dream of every medico wanting to pusue a surgical career!
