temple, Mahavishnu, divya desams, buddhist temple

VNDD070, DD070 - sree dhevi sametha sree murthi ji temple, salagrammam or mukthinaath is 70th divya dhesam located in northern region(vada naadu)! MuktiNath or Muktinarayan is an extremely important Vaishnav shrine, close to the China-Nepal border. Its one of the 108 dhivya dhesams! You generally take a flight to Jomsom and then trek for something like 7 hrs to reach this place.
Sree Gandaki shakthi peet temple is near here. The lalitha sahasranamam worships Mata's kapola (cheek) as 'padhmaraaga shila-' mean, her cheeks are smooth and shiny like padhmaraga stone. And Mukthinaath is famous for Shalagram stones - might be a very cute and lovely puranic correlation.
Jomsom to Kagbeni: 2,5 hrs
Kagbeni to Muktinath: 4 hrs
This place lies in Shalágrama Kshetra.Vaishnavas must visit this at least once in their lifetime. Is amazing to find the shala trees growing at such an altitude where the air so thin (3800 m high).People here—if they like you—they may donate you a Shalágram Shilá (Vishnú in a stone form).
