Gubin, inhabited by almost nineteen thousand people and situated on the western border of Poland is one of the fastest developing urban centres of the Lubuskie Province. Its geo-political location makes it more attractive economically and touristically on a daily basis.

There are three border crossings in and near Gubin: one in the town for pedestrians and cars, and the other is situated on the international railway line Zielona Góra - Cottbus. Another border crossing, which has been in operation since 2000, is in Gubinek-3km afar from Gubin.

The confluence of the Lubsza River and the Nysa River and shielding of the town from the eastern side by Gubin Hills creates specific, mild microclimate which is conducive to vegatation of many exotic species of trees and bushes, such as: magnolias, Ginkgo biloba, yew trees, beech trees with oak leaves and Turkish hazel trees.
