It has 3 Gurdwaras,a School a Bank and some of the most fertile soil in the Garh shankar Population of about 1500 people,some living in England ,Canada and Usa

Many young men left Chak Singha(the centre of their universe) in the 1950's and 1960s for far off lands to work hard in foundries in The Shires. They hoped to return one day after retirement and and enjoy the last 20 or 30 years in the houses they built with their sweat and blood. Some returned, others just perished!
