Esztergom was the first capital of the Kingdom of Hungary, the birthplace of king Stephen I, the first king of the country. It is the seat of the Constitutional Court, and the religious centre of Hungary.
The cathedral of Esztergom is a major tourist attraction, the tallest building in the country, and one of the biggest basilicas of Europe.
