IRE is a Govt. of India Undertaking organisation under the Dept. of Atomic Energy.It's a mineral plant where titanium sands, monazite (radioactive thorium ore), garnet (abrasive), and other heavy minerals are extracted from onshore sands by dredging. A dredge is visible to the south west of the factory area. It is working its way towards a local town.
