The multi-award winning Beatles Story experience, Liverpool
The Mersey Partnership Annual Tourism Award ‘Best Visitor Attraction’ Winner 2004/5
The Mersey Partnership Annual Tourism Awars 'Tourism Website of the Year' Winner 2005/06
Imagine experiencing the greatest story the pop world has ever know, in the City where it all began! The multi-award winning Beatles Story experience is dedicated to Liverpool’s most famous sons – John, Paul George and Ringo.
The story is told in 18 separate features including the streets of Hamburg, a full-size replica of the Cavern Club (complete with basement smells!), the Merseybeat office, Mathew Street, Abbey Road studios, ‘Beatlemania’, the psychedelic years, a walk-through Yellow Submarine in it’s underwater setting, the White Room dedicated to John Lennon and the new ‘Paul McCartney: The Solo Years’ section.
Recent acquisitions include George Harrison’s first guitar, which is on display for the first time in the UK, and the emotional and evocative feature ‘Lenses of Lennon’ where you can actually peer through his iconic round spectacles!
New: ‘Living History’ Audio Tour
Visitors can now let the voices of Paul McCartney, George Martin, Brian Epstein, Allan Williams and Cynthia Lennon take them on a personal journey through the Fab Four’s meteoric rise to fame. The guide is narrated by John Lennon’s sister, Julia and available in English, French, Spanish and Japanese. German, Italian and Russian guides are available from Easter 2006.
The Beatles Story worked closely with John Lennon’s sister, Julia, who also narrates the guide. “I am very pleased to be included in the make over. It’s recreating the story of The Beatles and with the storyboards, video clips, spaces that recreate the ambience of what was happening at the time and now the ‘Living History’ audio guide, it will complete the sensation that The Beatles were and are.”
Janine Ross, Marketing Manager for The Beatles Story, has been overwhelmed with the response from visitors. “The reaction has been phenomenal. Visitors go out their way to congratulate us for introducing the ‘Living History’, which has also resulted in doubling the length of the average visit!”
The Beatles Story is also proud to announce that they were recently awarded the “Best Visitor Attraction” at the recent Merseyside Tourism Awards. Louise Collier, Operations Manager was delighted: “This is a great achievement for the whole Beatles Story team. This year marks our 15th birthday so there is no better way to celebrate than being recognised for our continued excellence as a world-class visitor attraction.”
