Small, charming town on the River Dee, famed for its annual musical festival (or eisteddfod). Barge trips can be taken on the nearby canal, there is a steam railway, a motor museum and a number of other small delights about the town, not least its surrounding countryside, which can be both pretty and impressively rugged.
