Built in 1982 by Caroline Hunt as The Remington Houston. Became The Ritz-Carlton Houston in 1986. In 1997, it joined ITT Sheraton. It was placed in their ITT Sheraton Luxury Collection and was given the temporary name ITT Sheraton Luxury Collection Hotel, which it had for two years. In 1999, it became The St. Regis Houston. In 2025, it switched to an unbranded property within Marriott as Houston Grand Hotel - River Oaks
