Azhimugam is one of the tourism area in Malappuram district. It is 16km from Tirur. The nearest town is Ponnani. Azhimugam is the place which blessed by the God. Because that is surrounded by water. The west Arebian sea and east Kanoli cannal and Bharatha puzha. These revers meet with sea. so it got the name Azhimugam. There available many tourism entertainments like boat services (both speed boats and ordinary boats). To reach Ponnani there available Jankar service (feri service). to reach Cohin from Calicut side by road the easyest way is through Azhimugam.
