The iconic Pierlli Building is a prominent skyscraper in Milan. At 127 meters 32 floors, it was the city's earllest modern skyscraper. The tower was constructed from July 1956 to august 1958. Upon its completion, it became one of the symbols of Milan and of the national economic recovery. It was developed by architect Gio Ponti. On April 18, 2002, the Pirelli Building was hit by a single engine airplane, setting the 24th and 25th floors on fire.
