Designed c. 1930 in the Gothic Revival style by James Gamble Rogers with Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue, and contains structural elements by the Guastavino Fireproof Tile Co and stained glass by G. Owen Bonawit. Murals were also executed by Eugene F. Savage.

Samuel Yellin designed the railings, gates, grilles, and lighting fixtures. However, the chandeliers for the Memorabilia Room were reproduced based off of archival photos for a 2010 restoration under the direction of Claire Yellin who was Yellin's granddaughter. They also commissioned reproductions of the arm chairs designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1928 for that room.
