The Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary opened in 1930 as St. Thomas Seminary. The grounds were designed by the Olmsted Brothers, sons of the famous architect and landscape artist Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed Central Park in New York City. The Archbishop O'Brien Library is located on the campus. The library has 25,000 volumes including texts of 15th through 19th century Catholic Americana and history. There is no longer an academic seminary on the campus. The facilities are now used for retreats, conferences, Archdiocesan events and housing for retired clergy.
