  I was born & brought up in Kurla Catholic village. Remember going to Holy Cross High School, then tuitions & finally postman bringing the final results. I used to play Marbles, Top, Hiti-Dandu, Saath-Kawla, Land-Bridge, Hide & Seek, Football, Cricket, Pathar ka Maati, Chor-Police, Chess, Pakda-Pakdi, Cards, Cycling, Kite flying, Housie, western Music & Dance. Recollect few friends played & stayed around me from 1975 to 2005 are Austin, Jude, Manju, Lalit, Agnello, Domnic, Anil, Sunil, Navil, Arun, Arvind, Eric, Edward, Clopas, Onil, Leo, Satish, Mathew, Caju, Valliya, Nelson, Chandu, Chacko, Vishal, Vikas, Eldrin, Claudius, Milton, Jeru, Clayton, Simon and many others. Still remember each & every narrow lane (Galli) played in the village. We all specialized in Football, Kite Flying, Western Songs & Dance. Love to hear western songs playing loudly in most of the houses. Television came around 1981 onwards & then came Video (VCP & VCR) remember watching TV & Video movies in different houses. We loved East Indians dishes, their living style, prayers, wedding, X’mas, festivals & dress-code which are mixed with western cultures. How can I forget such nostalgic moment of Kurla Catholic village so easily in my life ? Murli Nair
