Trombay is a northeastern suburb in Mumbai, India, with Mankhurd as the closest railway station on the Harbour Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway.

Historically, Trombay Island, was one of the original historic islands that make up the Greater Bombay metropolitan region. Among the landmasses that are now covered by Bombay city, Trombay is second in size after Salsette Island. Originally, the island could be circumnavigated by boat, but today that is difficult except perhaps during rainy season. The sea channels separating Trombay island from its neighboring islands are now reduced to filth-choked streams - the Mahul Creek on its west, separating it from the former Parel Island, for example.

Trombay is formerly the site of the first nuclear power station in India - at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center which was started by Homi Bhabha. The facility is also called "Anushaktinagar" or "Nuclear Power City"
