Jurong Camp has long been a military base, The Royal Air Force once occupied it in conjunction with Cable & Wireless until 1971 when the UK withdrew their staff from Singapore completely. Jurong Camp was RAF Jurong and was a high power HF transmitter site and part of a global communications network, today, all that remains, are the tarmac surfaced roads that connected the different areas of the camp, all the buildings are gone and the surrounding area where once stood antenna and connecting feeder lines, have been developed into the industrial landscape we now see.
To see how it once looked, visit www.rafjurong.webs.com there you will see a Singapore that was very different to today's city
To see where we were visit nla.gov.au/nla.map-vn110264 a detailed map of how Singapore was in 1961

Our very best wishes from yesteryear.
