Terendak Army Camp

The Terendak Camp is highly notable as part of the forces that has been protecting Malacca all this while. Situated on the coast of Malacca Straits, Terendak Camp took its name from its highest hill known as "Bukit Terendak" which means "the hill of the rice planters' hat". The actual building of the camp started in June 1957 – the same year that Malaysia gained its independence. It was sited at Malacca in order to assist the economy of the state.
