This structure, and another located at Red Earth Creek were put in place during the twinning of the Trans Canada highway with the goal of reducing the effects of habitat fragmentation caused by the highway. Located in a what is deemed to be a wildlife corridor it allows the wildlife to cross from one side to the other.
