Coverack

 fishing village  Add category

Coverack is a delightful tiny fishing village with its single, curved harbour wall, built in the early 1700's and now sheltering a couple of dozen small fishing and pleasure craft. The local hotel Paris gets that name from a passenger ship of that same name that ran aground on the Manacles reef just a couple of miles up the coast in 1899. There is sandy beach beneath the seawall when the tide is right but is covered at high water. Coverack is also renowned for its outstanding beauty and rich wildlife. A trek through the craggy cliffs around Coverack will take you to the spell-binding Chynhallis Point. Stroll down the winding lanes of this sleepy hamlet and you're in for a rare treat.

  • I just love Coverack. The peace and tranquillity difficult to find elsewhere. The various coastal walks around are absolutely wonderful.
