town, parliamantary constituency (UK)
Altrincham is a town in Greater Manchester, England. It is a commuter town, partly because of its transport links—particularly the Metrolink. The suburban town has a strong 'middle class' presence due to its relatively low density and proximity to leafy hills. Most plots have generous gardens, numbers of rooms, sizes of rooms and are close to the town's parkland; there has been a steady increase in Altrincham's middle classes since the 19th century, whether in flats or houses and a relatively low proportion of housing as such is social housing. It is also a centre for sport, being home to Altrincham F.C. and an Elite Ice Hockey club, Manchester Phoenix.
