E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park is a 550-acre oasis on the outskirts of Louisville. The rolling fields that were once farmland are now the site of some of the finest indoor and outdoor recreation facilities in Kentucky. The park is named in honor of Erbon Powers "Tom" Sawyer, a Louisville leader and visionary. He and his wife Jean raised two daughters, Linda and Diane, host of ABC's "Good Morning America".
The park also has one of the best BMX(Bicycle Motocross) tracks in the country. The NBL(National Bicycle League) Grand Nationals are held there every Labor Day weekend.
