Back Creek Cemetery

Back Creek Cemetery has been used since 1830 when Exum Newby's wife
was buried there. A total of over 2400 have been made in this plat. Burials
were made in no special order and for many years markers of any kind were
not used. Located in the N.E. 1/4 of the S.W. 1/4 of Section #17 Range 8 E. Twp.
22 N. on 150 E. (Old Sand Pike) about a mile north of Fairmount.
