The main altar features a figure of St. Stephen, carved in Carrara marble. Special permission was required from the Pope to place it there. Above the king's head is the Archangel Gabriel. Above the chancel is a 96-meter dome, with a fresco of God the Father inside. The interior is incredibly richly decorated and gilded. As many as 50 types of natural stone were used for the finishing, including Italian travertine, limestone from Portugal and Belgium, and exquisite Italian marbles.
The place is located in Saint Stephen's Basilica
