A large, oval, stone-lined pond with a water feature or fountain. It has surrounding greenery and is a wildlife sanctuary.The pond is designated as a small wildlife sanctuary and is an extension of the Lake Merritt Wildlife Sanctuary. Due to this, fishing and catching animals is prohibited. The pond and surrounding park were built with the help of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1938–1940. A portion of the site was formerly part of the J. H. Medau Dairy.
