Venkatayapalem(Village code-6) belongs to Bellamkonda Mandal (Mdl code-6) of Guntur Dt, AP. It is surrounded by 15KM radial forest on allsides. One side it has the huge Venkatayapalem Reserve forest. 1500 Acres from the forest is dedicated to Veda University.

  • Venkataya Palem village is very close to the Pulichintala dam. Once the hydro electric power plant is operational the whole region will get benefited with reduced power cuts. Children can study in the night under electric lights instead of kirocine lamps as I used to do in my childhood. The reservoir may occupy large area that will submerge some of the villages adjacent to the pulichintala dam area. I sympahtise with the people who have been evacuated and moved to newer places as per the project plan.
