A "Gambling Hall" did exist on this site.
Randy Smith was an artist and sculptor who worked for Walt Disney and the original owner of this property, where he had a home studio in the main house.
This building housed a workshop at on end that was used for production of props and statues used at various Walt Disney Company sites and, for retail sale items sold under the Randotti name. Gypsum plaster waste material was often removed via a dump pit behind the building on the large property to the east, owned and operated by Marvin Dufloth, a ceramic tile contractor with small ties to the early Hollywood studios.
Randy Smith was an avid collector of pre-1900 gaming devices and would travel throughout the western states to acquire items related to 19th century Gold Rush and Reconstruction-era gambling halls.
Most everything in this building was authentic, from the tin ceilings, down to the furniture, lighting, and carpeting. There was a bar, roulette wheels, blackjack tables, craps tables, and even a Faro-bank setup.
